German Star Impresses In China

ATP Beijing: Third Place Finish for Alexander Zverev

Alexander Zverev has secured a third-place finish at the ATP Beijing 500 tournament after defeating Dusan Lajovic in straight sets 6-4, 6-4.

The victory marks the German's second third-place finish in as many weeks, having also placed third at the Shanghai Masters.

Zverev will now turn his attention to the ATP Finals in London, which begin on November 10.

Dominant serving display: Zverev won 85% of his first-serve points and fired 10 aces.
Aggressive groundstrokes: The German dictated play with powerful forehands and backhands, forcing Lajovic into errors.
Solid defense: Zverev's quick movement and anticipation allowed him to retrieve many of Lajovic's shots.

Zverev's third-place finish strengthens his position as one of the top players in the world.

It also gives him a boost of confidence heading into the ATP Finals, where he will be aiming to win his first year-end championship.

"Zverev is playing with a lot of confidence right now," said former world number one Mats Wilander.

"He's serving well, hitting his groundstrokes cleanly, and moving incredibly well. He's a real threat to win the ATP Finals."
