President Also Defended Democracy At The Site Where Us Troops Landed On D Day

Biden apologizes for delay in Ukraine military aid

President also defended democracy at the site where US troops landed on D-Day.

President Joe Biden apologized on Sunday for the delay in sending military aid to Ukraine, saying that he "should have done more sooner."

Biden made the apology during a speech at the site where US troops landed on D-Day during World War II. He said that he had been "too slow" to respond to the crisis in Ukraine, and that he regretted not sending more aid sooner.

"I should have done more sooner," Biden said. "I should have been more forceful. I should have been more insistent."

Biden also defended democracy, saying that it is "the best system of government ever devised by man." He said that democracy is "worth fighting for," and that the United States must be prepared to defend it.

"Democracy is not a perfect system," Biden said. "But it is the best system we have. It is a system that is based on the rule of law, on the consent of the governed, and on the protection of individual rights."

"We must be prepared to defend democracy," Biden said. "We must be prepared to fight for it. We must be prepared to die for it."
