Mohamed Salah Inspires Liverpool to Merseyside Derby Victory

Salah's Brace Downs Everton at Anfield

Liverpool returned to winning ways with a 2-0 triumph over Everton at Anfield on Saturday, thanks to a brace from Mohamed Salah.

The Egyptian forward opened the scoring from the penalty spot in the first half before adding a second in the second period to secure the three points for the Reds. The victory moves Liverpool up to eighth in the Premier League table, while Everton remain in the relegation zone.

The match was marred by a red card for Everton defender Yerry Mina in the second half, which gave Liverpool a numerical advantage. The Colombian was sent off for a professional foul on Salah, who was through on goal.

Despite the sending-off, Everton put up a spirited fight and created some good chances of their own. However, they were unable to find the back of the net, and Salah's goals proved to be the difference.

The win is a timely boost for Liverpool, who had lost their previous two games in the Premier League. It also gives them a much-needed confidence boost ahead of their Champions League clash with Ajax on Tuesday.
